We have some regular events -
Ilmington Gardens Day, with an invited side, when we tour the village gardens that are open for the National Garden Scheme. In 2007 it was on Sunday 22nd April, this year with Faithful City Morris Men from Worcester.
St Georges Day, (23rd April) when we dance (in the evening) outside St. Georges church at Brailes and at 'The George' opposite. This marks the start of our Wednesday dancing out season. This year we were joined by the Shakespeare Mummers and Morris, the Chipping Campden Men, Adderbury Village and Pebworth.
May Day - Sunrise on May 1st - about 5.30 am - sees us dancing at the highest point in Warwickshire on the Ilmington Downs behind the village. We then dance in the village to a remarkably friendly reception (considering that it is still before 7 am.). Then somewhere (often the 'Red Lion') for breakfast and another dance and sometimes to a meeting with other local sides at lunchtime at a suitable pub (this normally happens when May 1st is at a weekend). This year, as May 1st was not a Bank Holiday Monday we finished after breakfast at the Red Lion.
Ilmington Flower Show (August 27th, Bank Holiday Monday) at the village sports field at about 4.00 pm this year, as we are dancing at a wedding at Dumbleton Hall earlier that afternoon.
26th December - Boxing Day - Shipston-on-Stour, Low Furlong at 10.00 am, Ellen Badger Hospital at 11.00 and the Black Horse at 12.00
We have some special events this year -
For the weekend of the 6th-8th July we go to Denmark at the invitation of the Silkeborg Morris Men for the Skagen Folk Festival.
On Trinity Monday, 4th June we (and Chipping Campden) are invited to join Shakespeare Morris Men on their evening outing to Bidford-on-Avon.
On Friday 22nd June we hope to meet the Wessex Morris Men in Ilmington, probably at the Red Lion, at 8.00 pm.
On Saturday 9th June we are to appear at Broadwell Fete at around 2.00 pm.
On Saturday 1st September we are dancing at an event at Moreton-in-Marsh Show at 2.00 pm.
